I went to work and everyone immediately thought I had gotten laid, I had to respond, "Better, I beat Ninja Gaiden 3". That adrenaline high felt like it lasted 2 days. We had both been deathly silent before then. I dropped to my knees when I finally beat it, my brother was running circles around the room and screaming. I was standing, no longer sitting on the couch, entirely engaged with the game. I was shaking so much when I got to the third form on the final boss. The reason is that I used all my continues and lives with only 2 lives remaining. I was at my brother's and it took 3.5 hours for me to beat. Like I said, the only game I remember beating so vividly is NG3. If you can beat NG1 and 2, I think you can probably manage the hardest version of NG3.

Honestly, you can play whichever version you want, it's the best game in the series in my opinion. Then they made it harder because of the Rental market in USA. The game was intended to be a more friendly Ninja Gaiden entry for players that were not as good. more save points when you do use a continue (Don't start back at 7-1 for example).

Also having 9 lives instead of 3 for level 7 will help you A LOT. Since each continue is 3 lives, that's like having 3 more continues to help you get though level 7. You can do this to stock up and get the maximum 9 lives. If you get that life and then head back though the door you entered the room, then back into the room, the extra life will re-appear. There is a extra life at the top of the screen at that level. I will usually beat the game daily on my lunch breaks (Working from home) in just around 30 min with no deaths because I love the game so much.īut one tip that helped me is when you reach level 6 where you can start falling though the floor. Longer sword (when you get it), and enemies don't respawn when leaving the screen's spawn point. Once you have memorized the enemy spawns, it actually has less cheap things than the original. Which is why I'm recommending that version. But holy hell did I have an adrenaline high for days. It took me a week of tries (no save states or anything) to beat it the first time. NG3 was the hardest of the three for me when I started the game. You already have the chops of beating the original and the sequel.
Japanese one is SOOOOO much easier that I would have to recommend the English version.
